Here's What Students Like About Our College

Daniel Lau
Tohoku University, Physics
I was a IGCSE & A-Level student under Dr Catherine, Ms Lim and Dr Lee. All of them were really friendly and were able to answer pretty much any question I throw at them. I was also struggling while studying for the Japanese university entrance exam at the time, so I asked them questions related to the Japanese syllabus as well, and they offered me great help. Most importantly, all of them are very well-oriented with the syllabus, and they hand out customized notes and worksheets based on frequently asked questions in the exam. With their help, I'm sure you can foresee what questions lie ahead in your upcoming exam. Cheers!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to ChemPraxis for supporting me all the way from IGCSE to my A-levels. I’m especially grateful to Dr. Catherine, Ms. Lim, and Dr. Wong for all their guidance and constant help during my A-level studies. Their teaching style was so clear and engaging, which made it so much easier for me to wrap my head around complex concepts, especially during A2. On top of that, their notes were concise and packed with all the key tips I needed to do well in every exam. The educators were always happy to stick around after class to offer extra practice and explanations whenever I needed a bit of extra help. Thanks to ChemPraxis, I managed to get 4A*s in my A-levels! I’m honestly so thankful for all the care and support from the educators here that helped me to reach goals I never thought were possible.

I had an amazing experience at ChemPraxis! I took both Chemistry and Physics tuition here, achieved A* in both subjects, and got into my dream university, NTU. Dr. Catherine and Ms. Lim are incredibly professional, patient, and supportive. They made every lesson enjoyable and kept me motivated throughout my A Level journey. I often couldn’t understand the way my school teachers explained concepts, but everything became much clearer at ChemPraxis. I truly miss my time there and am so grateful for all the guidance and encouragement. I highly recommend ChemPraxis to anyone preparing for A Levels!

Super grateful to have Ms Lim throughout my A levels journey. She's a very helpful and friendly educator who makes learning Physics much more enjoyable and less stressful. The topical past year paper questions, mock exam papers and exam topic predictions that she provided really helped me prepare for my exams more efficiently. Her way of teaching also makes challenging physics concepts easier to understand and interesting to learn ! Overall, I'm truly thankful for her guidance and encouragement throughout my A level journey.

I would like to sincerely thank Dr. Catherine for guiding me through my IGCSE and A Level Chemistry courses. She is a wonderful educator who explains even the most challenging topics in a way that is clear and easy to understand. Her passion for teaching is evident, and she always goes the extra mile to support her students, providing additional resources and worksheets to strengthen our understanding and ensure we don’t forget key concepts. I am truly grateful for her dedication and encouragement, which have made a big difference in my learning journey.

I’ve been with Dr Catherine since IGCSE to A Levels, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better educator. She explains things so clearly and always finds a way to make lessons fun, even when the topics seemed impossible at first. The practice exams, labs, and homework she gave were super helpful and kept me on track, but what I’ll remember most is how supportive and encouraging she always was. Thanks to her, Chemistry went from something I was nervous about to something I actually enjoyed. I’m really grateful for everything she’s taught me!

My name is Samantha, mother of 2. My youngest, Olivia, was studying at HELP International School under the IGCSE Syllabus. My daughter prefers the arts so she struggled in Physics, Chemistry and Additional mathematics. As a parent, I worried for her future if this continued so I searched for tuition.

I tried many tuition centers found the support lacklustre. I found Chempraxis tuition center through a friend 's recommendation. Every 1st Class for a subject was free since it was a trial class so I decided to enroll my daughter. For Chemistry, Olivia joined Dr. Catherine's class. Physics was Miss Lim and A-maths was Mr. Lee. I was impressed by their resumes they each had years of teaching experience and a masters related to the subject or higher. After her trial classes, our doubts were put to rest as the teachers did an immaculate job.

Olivia no longer dread these subjects and even scored 100% in her Add-maths test at school and scored A for Physics and Chemistry. Thank you ChemPraxis!

I am very satisfied with Chempraxis's education. The teacher's combination of expertise, friendliness, and her focus on providing students with a lot of topical past-year questions really benefited my daughter. My daughter had significant academic progress after joining Chempraxis. I wholeheartedly recommend Chempraxis to other parents. It is definitely a place where students can receive quality education and personal support for academic success.

My daughter first attended classes at ChemPraxis because she was struggling to handle the heavy A-Level Biology content. Closer to her A2 exams, she also attended chemistry and intensive lessons. Classes were enjoyable, and I was pleased to hear that her teachers were able to explain various concepts in a simple and direct manner. I believe that under their guidance, my daughter was able to understand the material better and felt more confident in tackling exam papers. Besides that, the classes were relatively small and held both in person and online, which was really convenient for her, especially during exam season.

My children found the teachers very patient and effective when it came to explaining key concepts. The content covered also had a strong emphasis on the most relevant examination questions, while challenging them to succeed even in the more difficult questions. Not only did their grades improve substantially within weeks of joining ChemPraxis, but they also brought home a renewed enthusiasm towards their subjects.

It was quite difficult for my children to find sufficient help, particularly for laboratory papers. It was also hard to find support from other tuition centers we looked into - they just often did not have access to a physical laboratory. Fortunately, ChemPraxis resolved our worries and put us at ease. They provided my children first-rate private laboratory sessions with quality equipment where their specific questions and weaknesses were addressed, helping them approach the lab with confidence and optimism in their exams.

Without ChemPraxis, I would have had to watch my children stress endlessly over their academics, without any idea of a real solution to improve their grades. ChemPraxis has helped them exceed all expectations and achieve their greatest potential, unlocking their bright futures and helping them face exams with confidence, and even excitement.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How long does the ChemPraxis Cambridge A-Level programme take?
Our programme is designed to be completed in 10 months, with students progressing through AS Level followed by A2. Students may then participate in an additional 1-2 months of clinical, research or STEM attachment opportunities before progressing to university.
How many subjects must students take?
Students are required to take a minimum of 3 subjects and may take up to 4 subjects.
Can I take Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Further Mathematics without Mathematics?
No. Further Mathematics assumes substantial prior knowledge from A-Level Mathematics. Students who wish to take Further Mathematics should therefore either study Mathematics alongside Further Mathematics or have already completed the required A-Level Mathematics examination.
Who is this programme suitable for?
This programme is ideal for disciplined and academically motivated students who wish to complete A-Level within a shorter timeframe and have a clear goal for their intended STEM degree and university pathway.
What are the entry requirements?
Applicants should have SPM, IGCSE/O-Level or an equivalent qualification with at least 5 credits. Students with 5Bs or above, particularly in the relevant Science subjects and Mathematics, will generally be better prepared to cope with the pace and academic demands of our intensive programme. Students who have taken IGCSE Additional Mathematics will also be better prepared to cope with A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
Is an assessment required before enrolment?
Yes. All applicants are required to complete an entrance assessment and academic evaluation before enrolment. This allows us to assess the student’s academic foundation, readiness for an intensive 10-month A-Level programme, and suitability for their intended subject combination and university pathway.
How large are the classes?
ChemPraxis maintains small class sizes of not more than 10 students, allowing educators to provide closer academic monitoring, personalised guidance and greater classroom interaction.
How are practical sessions conducted?
Science practicals are conducted in small groups, with one lab instructor to two students. This allows for close supervision, frequent interaction and immediate feedback, helping students develop a strong understanding of practical techniques, experimental procedures and data analysis while gaining substantial hands-on experience.
How does our 1:2 practical model give students an advantage?
Our 1:2 practical sessions give every student extensive hands-on experience rather than simply observing or sharing tasks in a large group. Students can perform experiments independently, repeat techniques when needed and receive immediate guidance from the instructor. This helps build stronger practical understanding, procedural memory, confidence and accuracy.
Are there opportunities for clinical, research or STEM exposure?
Yes. Eligible students may participate in clinical, research and STEM attachments facilitated through our collaborating institutions. For competitive university applications, strong grades alone may not be enough. Relevant exposure helps students demonstrate genuine interest, strengthen their applications and make more informed decisions about their future studies.
Where will students sit for their examinations?
Students will sit for their Cambridge International AS and A-Level examinations at an authorised Cambridge examination centre. Examination arrangements and applicable fees will be communicated to students in advance.
How can the full A-Level syllabus be completed within 10 months?
Our programme is intensive, not compressed. Students receive comparable weekly teaching hours to conventional A-Level programmes, but follow a more streamlined academic calendar with shorter breaks and fewer non-teaching weeks. This allows the full Cambridge syllabus, practicals, assessments and revision to be completed within 10 months without reducing teaching time.
Why are we confident in helping students achieve strong A-Level results?
Our 1:2 science practical sessions give students repeated hands-on practice, close supervision and immediate feedback, helping them master Paper 3 and target near-full 30/30 practical marks. With one component strongly secured, students can approach the remaining papers with greater confidence. Combined with our science-specialised teaching and targeted examination preparation, students are equipped to pursue outstanding A-Level results.
Does the 100% tuition fee refund apply to the entire programme or individual subjects?
The guarantee applies to each subject individually and to the relevant semester. For example, if you achieve Bs in AS Chemistry and Physics but a C in AS Mathematics, we will refund 100% of the Semester 1 Mathematics tuition fees paid. Chemistry and Physics tuition fees will not be refunded. The refund will be completed within 30 calendar days of the official results release date.
What happens if I achieve a B at AS but my final A-Level grade falls to C or below?
If you achieve a B or above at AS but receive a final overall A-Level grade below B after completing A2, we will refund 100% of the Semester 2 tuition fees paid for that subject. Your Semester 1 tuition fees will not be refunded because your AS result met the guaranteed grade. The refund will be completed within 30 calendar days of the official results release date.
Are there any other conditions for the Grade B Guarantee?
Yes. Our guarantee is built on a shared commitment: ChemPraxis provides expert teaching and academic support, while students commit to regular attendance and active participation in their learning. Eligibility criteria and terms and conditions apply. These include attendance, completion of coursework and participation in required tutorials and laboratory sessions. The full guarantee terms will be provided and explained to students and parents during registration, before enrolment is confirmed and payment is made.
